We are not going to say it, we are not going to say it. But here we go we just did.
Ee Sala Cup Namde!
This is what Royal Challengers Bangalore fans have been singing for a while now. Thanks to players like Virat Kohli, Ab De Villiers, Chris Gayle, and all the legendary players that have played for this amazing franchise, it is one of the most loved franchises not just in India but in the world as a whole. Just like CSK, RCB also has an undying fan base and fans who act like the 12th and even 13th man.

Even though RCB is yet to lift an IPL trophy, there is no change in support for this lovely franchise. Just last season, Virat Kohli decided to quit captaincy and announced that it would be his last season as an RCB captain but he would forever be an RCB player. Glenn Maxwell was one of their finds of the season considering how brilliantly he played. RCB has made some very amazing and interesting buys in this season’s mega auction.
Let us look at their expected playing XI and their strengths and squads of the Royal Challengers Bangalore -
Faf du Plessis © - One of the best openers in IPL’s history, Faf was a huge reason why CSK won the number of trophies they have and the dominance they have shown over the years. He was picked by RCB in the mega auction and he had to part ways with CSK. However being an experienced player and someone who has been around for quite some time, Faf will fit in pretty well with RCB specially when he is captaining the side.
- Virat Kohli - King Kohli is a name that needs no introduction. He is the highest run-scorer in the history of IPL and he and Rohit Sharma keep playing a game of musical chairs over that stat. Kohli gave up his captaincy last season and this season he will be more relaxed and focused on his personal game. Watch out for him this season, he might just take the orange cap home.
- Anuj Rawat/Mahipal Lomror - Both of these youngsters have some amazing talent to strike the cricket ball and also build an innings. Both of these players will be eager to make their mark in the new franchise and make a reputation for themselves. It will be pretty interesting to see who RCB plays in this position.
- Glenn Maxwell - The Big Show is one of the best strikers of the ball in the modern era. He has all the timing and power in the world. And some of the shots that he plays are absolutely ridiculous. He was their best batsman last season and he will be looking to do the same.
- Dinesh Karthik (wk) - Dinesh Karthik is another very good pick made by RCB. He might be a little rusty at the start but expect the veteran batsman to come good and showcase all his shots and talent on display. The experience he brings to the table is also immense.
- Shahbaz Nadeem - Shahbaz Nadeem is one of those slow left-arm orthodox bowlers who might win you the game with their bowling on a given day. Even if they don’t they give away very few runs and also chip in with the bat.
- Wanindu Hasaranga - Perhaps one of the brightest cricketing talents Sri Lanka has produced in the last 5-10 years ever since the legends of Sri Lanka retired and the young Sri Lankan team stopped performing at the levels their predecessors used to. However, this young bloke is just amazing. He is someone who will surely take wickets and chip in with the bat as well. He is very hard to score against and while batting he is very hard to contain.
- Harshal Patel - The winner of last season's Purple Cap - Harshal Patel’s fortunes have changed since his theatrics at the IPL. He has represented India at the topmost level as well. He is someone who is brilliant with the cutters and someone on whom the captain can rely very heavily in the death overs.
- Shahbaz Ahmed - Shahbaz Ahmed is another very handy all-rounder that RCB has picked to be a part of their squad. He is 27 and yet has a lot of experience. He plays for Bengal in the domestic circuit. He is expected to have a good season with RCB this year.
- Mohammed Siraj - Siraj has become one of India’s and RCB’s gun bowlers in a very short span of time. He is someone who has shown that if you have the talent and hunger to pursue your dreams, you can be anybody. He will be a key player for RCB this season.
- Josh Hazlewood - Josh Hazlewood is another very good pick made by the RCB this season. He is someone who can take wickets with the new ball, break partnerships in the middle, and someone who is equally good at the death. Expect Josh Hazlewood to level it up for RCB in this season’s IPL.
