The 2020-21 football season is over. The new 2021-22 season is on its way. The Euros are also done and dusted with and we all thought that Football is coming home but somehow it didn’t. There’s not much going around in the world of football at the moment but,
It's the time when the transfer window is open. It's the time when most clubs are heavily involved in deep talks with one another with a motive to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, some with the motive of winning silverware and some with the motive to improve their league positions, some with the motive to not get relegated. No matter what the end motive might be, but this is a time when clubs mean business and oh boy do they do some business.
Today we look at some of the football biggest transfers business already done or some potential transfers, some big money moves that have already been done or some which are very likely to be done.

1. Jadon Sancho-
$101 M Borussia Dortmund to MANCHESTER UNITED - FInally the Sancho to United saga has come to an end. It's been a long time coming, in fact many seasons too. Jadon Sancho has been heavily linked with Manchester United since many seasons now and during every transfer window there is a very big fuss about him joining the Reddevils but with United trying to buy the talented winger for an amount less than the asking price the deal was not happening. But finally Dortmund and United have agreed on the transfer price of Sancho and the deal is said to have been completed. Manchester United who came runners up in the Premier League would be looking forward to some terrific performances from the talented youngster.
2. Sergio Ramos –
FREE Transfer - Real Madrid - PSG - He might be 35 but he is still Sergio Ramos. One of the best defenders in the game for a long long while. PSG have made a steal by offering a two year contract to the veteran. He will add tremendous value and experience to PSG’s defence and also considering his performances in the big games specially the finals of the champions league, PSG’s dream of finally winning the Elite competition is taking a good shape by signing him. Even though he wanted to stay at Madrid but now that he has joined PSG, consider PSG potential favourites to win the champions league this year after already having signed Donnarumma and Hakimi with Mbappe and Neymar already in front.
3. Gianluigi Donnarumma –
Free Transfer - AC Milan to PSG - This should be the signing of the season. Donnarumma is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he is just 22. PSG have managed to sign him on a free transfer after leaving behind potentially all the biggest clubs in Europe who were after the 22 year old. With time on his side yet plenty of experience and talent, this could be one of the best signings PSG have ever made and one would expect him to protect PSG’s goal at least for the next decade. He has already won the Euros this year and even though he might be sent to Milan on loan for this season as PSG keeper Navas has hardly put a foot wrong in the previous season, this definitely deserves to be called the signing of the season.
4. Achraf Hakimi –
$82m - Inter to PSG - PSG have done some wonderful transfer business this season and their signings clearly indicate that too. They have managed to sign Hakimi the talented 22 year old right back from Inter for a whooping sim of $82m, but considering the talent and the dependability the 22 year old has shown, this deal still seems like a steal even after considering the fact that it is for $82 million. Ramos, Hakimi, Donnarumma signed all together in the same window, Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria in front. Champions League glory this time for PSG?
5. Dayot Upamecano -
$51m - RB Leipzig - Bayern Munich - There was not much Leipzig could to do keep the 22 year old talented defender Dayot Upamecano with almost all the top clubs in Europe trying to sign the already very world class yet a budding defender and the release clause being invoked by Bayern Munich, They have signed the talented defender who will be a great addition to their already very talented squad. He was on the transfer list of clubs like United, Barcelona and many other clubs in Europe but somehow Bayern edged it through and managed to sign the talented youngster.
6. Ibrahima Konate –
$50m - RB Leipzig - Liverpool. Another talented defender that Leipzig will have to bid farewell to is Konate. With an achievable release clause, it was only a matter of time before the top clubs in Europe came looking for this talented 21 year old defender. Upamecano might have made the headlines but Konate was equally talented and equally well deserving and when a club like Liverpool came knocking with a good offer, both Leipzig and Konate were primed to say yes. Liverpool suffered a great deal in their title defending season due to injury suffered by their first choice defenders and hence are making good amends by signing proper reinforcements for such positions. If Konate can avoid injuries and feature regularly for Liverpool he is primed to make a name for himself in the upcoming years.
7. Boubakary Soumare –
$30m- Lille - Leicester City FC - After helping Lille win the french ligue after 7 years, it was just a matter of time before the big clubs came looking for the talented 22 year midfielder. Leicester alway do some great business in the transfer window and after having made an impressive signing in Fofana last year, they have managed to sign this immensely talented 21 year old fielder for a bargain price of $30m. He should have a massive massive impact and should add great value to Leicester’s midfield.
Among other very potential signings is the transfer of Varane from Real Madrid to Manchester United, Jack Grealish to Manchester city, Haaland who is rumoured to be on the transfer list of Chelsea and then the biggest player on this year’s transfer window - Harry Kane who might join Man City or any other club as long as the meet Tottenham’s asking price of $150m.
All in all, this makes it a very interesting transfer window to have been to spectate.
